FROM THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE

Hi there, June! I’m so, totally, ready for you. I’ve spent all winter – and even parts of spring – covered up in over sized coats and  fuzzy socks and now i’m ready to soak in the sun. To kick off the most, here’s 7 of the coolest things i discovered on the internet this week.

1. Love people and use things. Because the opposite never works.

Last night i listened to these two guys, Josh + Ryan (AKA The Minimalists), talk about how to de-clutter your life. How doing so will let you understand what it is you really value and can’t live without. I just put their new book, Everything that Remains, on hold at the library.

2. Who here is a THE FAULT IN OUR STARS fan?

I plan on stuffing my bra and my purse with tissues to go see the movie on Sunday. If you haven’t read any of John Green’s books – add The Fault in Our Stars to your summer reading list.

3. Turn your speakers up…

Check out this compilation of the most popular songs of summer.

4. Read this before you quit your job…

Or make any kind of drastic change in your life.

5. The 7 Minute workout

The other week i wrote about why you never ever have to go to the gym (because it smells and people are intimidating there). So instead of paying $40 a month for a membership, download an app or two on your phone and get your body back into shape. This week i downloaded this “7 Minute Workout” app – and by the end of the 7 minutes, i find myself laying on the floor in a giant pile of my own sweat.

6. Capture

7. All My Friends are Engaged is NOW an audio book

And i gave it a listen while i was at the gym the other night and i loved – loved – loved it. Though, i’ll admit, it was a bit strange hearing my personal stories told from the voice of a total stranger. But she’s convincing and her voice accentuates the emotions and the awkward-ness that is threaded throughout many of these stories.

Hi – I’m Jen Glantz! It’s really nice to e-meet you.

I wish we could high-five, even hug hello in person – and maybe someday soon we’ll have that chance. But until then, welcome to my website. It’s my most favorite place in the world (beside home, Forever21, and the library – of course). I hope you’ll click around a bit – and read something you like. And if you do, come back again! Or better yet, click the subscribe button – on the top right – and i’ll send you an email on Monday Mornings with tips and fun articles to help kick your butt out of bed.

I’m Jen Glantz. I’ve been a published writer for over 13 years, spilling my words into magazines (ranging from style to scuba diving), newspapers, websites and even this one time, a speech, for someone who didn’t speak a word of English. What drives my words, my site, my writing, is the power of relating to people. I find that many people, especially young girls, feel so alone and quite often they feel embarrassed. I want to shatter those feelings! I want them to read what I write and understand that it’s okay to be a little outside of the box, but most importantly, that it is okay to just be who they are.
