FROM I AM A FEAR JUNKIE

I graduated from an 8-week improv school with a performance in front of a live audience. The whole experience was terrifying. My body was trembling uncontrollably and every ounce of my insides were screaming, “Jen don’t do this. Don’t get up on that stage.” But I did it. I had to. When fear suffocates you, you have to find a way to breathe. The only way to do that is to pretend you’re not scared at all and do the thing that makes you want to curl into a ball and hide underneath your bed. 13537762_10105290740954562_8414250385704828729_n

I did it. I’m done. I’ll never forget how scared I was. How alive I felt – again. I came home. I went to sleep. I woke up at 4am and decided to sign up for an acting class. I want to become a fear junkie. But first, let me take a deep breath.

PS. My new book ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID (FOR HIRE) is now available! Buy it now & be the first to open it on February 7th 2017.

I’m Jen Glantz. I’ve been a published writer for over 13 years, spilling my words into magazines (ranging from style to scuba diving), newspapers, websites and even this one time, a speech, for someone who didn’t speak a word of English. What drives my words, my site, my writing, is the power of relating to people. I find that many people, especially young girls, feel so alone and quite often they feel embarrassed. I want to shatter those feelings! I want them to read what I write and understand that it’s okay to be a little outside of the box, but most importantly, that it is okay to just be who they are.
